Gana — Legal
Terms
Terms of Service · Effective July 16, 2026
These are the terms for using Gana, the app that turns your words into songs. They’re written to be read. Using Gana means you agree to them.
1. Who can use Gana
You must be at least 13 to use Gana. Gana is designed as a 17+ App Store experience. The explicit-lyrics mode is for adults only — you must be 18 or older to enable it. If you’re using Gana on behalf of someone else, you’re promising they agree to these terms too.
2. Your words stay yours
You keep whatever rights you already have in the text you submit to Gana. You give us a limited license to process that submitted text — to send it through the server-side generation providers configured for the live service, generate lyrics and audio, and show the results back to you. That license exists solely to run the service. You promise you have the right to submit what you submit: don’t paste in someone else’s lyrics, private messages you don’t have the right to use, or anything you’d need permission for.
3. Your songs and what you can do with them
- Your free preview is one private 15-second personal preview on this device for listening inside Gana. It is not the full song, and it does not include hosted sharing or MP3 export.
- A purchase unlocks the product features described at checkout, such as a full render, MP3 export, or hosted sharing. A purchase does not transfer rights Gana or its generation providers do not have, guarantee copyright protection, promise exclusivity, or by itself grant a commercial-use license.
- Generated-song rights vary. The law on AI-generated music remains unsettled, and provider terms can change. Unless the checkout and these Terms expressly say otherwise after provider and legal review, use generated songs personally and do not rely on them for monetized, client, advertising, broadcast, or other commercial work. No one can promise that another output will never sound similar.
- Hosted share links are unlisted, not private. Anyone with the link can listen or forward it. You can revoke a share link from Gana, and account or song deletion also disables its hosted link.
4. Acceptable use
Gana makes songs, not weapons. You may not use it to create or share content that:
- harasses, threatens, or degrades a real person — petty is fine, cruel is not;
- promotes hatred against people based on who they are;
- impersonates a real person in a way meant to deceive (fake endorsements, fake statements presented as real);
- sexualizes minors in any way — instant, permanent ban and, where required, a report;
- is illegal where you live or where you send it.
You also may not reverse-engineer the service, resell access to it, evade rate limits, or automate accounts. We can refuse to generate, remove content, or suspend accounts to enforce this section.
5. Explicit mode (18+)
With explicit mode on, the language can be adult — the rules above still apply in full. Explicit is a register, not a license to target real, identifiable people. We may decline any request at our discretion.
6. Purchases, subscriptions, and credits
- All purchases are made through Apple and are governed by Apple’s payment terms alongside these.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel any time in your App Store subscription settings; access continues to the end of the paid period.
- Deleting your Gana account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Manage renewal separately through Gana’s subscription support screen or Apple’s subscription settings. If you later recreate Gana with the same verified sign-in, use Restore Purchases; deleted songs and unused consumable credits do not return.
- Credits and song packs are consumable: five credits create one full song. The saved 15-second preview remains replayable and is not the purchased full performance. Buying completion creates a separate full song from the same confirmed brief and lyrics; melody, vocal, timing, and arrangement may vary. Failed or invalid full-song generation does not settle credits. Credits have no cash value, aren’t transferable, and are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. If a bug consumes credits without delivering a valid song, email us and we’ll restore them.
- Refunds are handled by Apple, not us — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Prices may change; changes never apply retroactively to time or credits you’ve already paid for.
7. The service itself
Songs usually generate in about a minute, but generation depends on AI models under real load — sometimes songs queue, and very occasionally a generation fails (see the credit-restore promise above). We may change, add, or retire features. We’ll be thoughtful about it, but we can’t freeze the product in time.
8. Disclaimers
Gana is provided “as is.” We don’t warrant that generated lyrics will be accurate, unique, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose — a song about your ex is art, not advice. To the maximum extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties.
9. Limits on liability
To the maximum extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of Gana is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, and neither of us is liable to the other for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Some places don’t allow these limits, in which case they apply only as far as permitted.
10. Ending things
You can stop using Gana at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account (see the Privacy Policy). Account deletion and Apple subscription cancellation are separate actions. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Files already exported to your device remain there; any use of them remains subject to section 3 and applicable law.
11. Governing law
Except where the law where you live requires otherwise, these terms and any dispute arising from Gana are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The state and federal courts located in DuPage County, Illinois have exclusive jurisdiction and venue. Nothing in these terms waives consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.
12. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll update the date above and say so in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use Gana after that means you accept the new terms.
